Bonsai Scroll Painting

This scroll was made for a bonsai artist in Sonoma County area....The original painting was done by Suzanne Barrymore, who can also mount the paintings (So I do not know why she did not do this one) If you want to contact Suzanne Barrymore I could find her number for you.

Anyways, it is an alpine lake scene, so I suggested this light green for summer, and it can reinforce a breeze or rippling water, with the light tan on the Ten/Chi to be conservative. My only concern for this scroll is that it would not be long enough for the tree it was displayed with, so it was made in the Sandan Hyougu style to stretch it further.... It is completed with Shitan (Rosewood) jikusaki and the kinka (Hanging String)

子供の日 Kodomo no Hi

After coming home from my trip to a bonsai display competition in California...How wonderful to see the house decorated for Kodomo no Hi, and kids finishing cleaning their brushes from Calligraphy practice for this month's submission....
