Pair of Oni

These two paintings will be put into a pair of scrolls for the artists University Art Senior show. I love these paintings, because they are a little different from his other works. I am grateful that he puts his trust in my work to create something incredible to match his works. You will notice a container of Dousa Eki, which I applied to the areas bordering the red sumi. The reason for this is that red tends to bleed when applying the first layer of backing paper called Hada Urauchi in Japanese.

Customer Artwork Mounted in Kakejiku

This is the second scroll of a customer's, late mother's calligraphy. I really like her brushwork. It was the reason these were given merit awards by the calligraphy society with which she participates.

This scroll was also mounted in the Maru Hyougu format. I really love this cloth. Just so you are aware it is a nami 波 (wave) pattern, with a strip of ichimonji. This was finished with a wooden jikusaki and the Kodai San Iro kakehimo.
