Imported Scroll Making Machine

 

I am so excited. I have worked for many years to import some machinery from Japan to help speed up the method with which I can create scrolls for customers. Yamato Transport USA was very helpful in helping me to achieve this goal, as well as my Sensei in Japan who helped to source the machine. Howver, now I have to work to get the transformer changed out to work in the US. So still alot of work to get this completed.

Flower Sumie

 This is another painting by Vinh Bui. He painted this flower. I like the mix of shades between the dark and light. This scroll was made in the Sandan Hyougu style (Three step). It has an Orange and Gold Arabesque Ichimonji, with a wicker design green middle cloth. It is finished with a light tan top/bottom cloth. I purchased this remnant cloth from a Japanese fabric retailer called Numaya. I only have enough cloth to make a couple of these Tapestry Frames. It is a fun cloth to work with, and very beautiful. Raijin is the God of Storms in Japanese culture.
