Scroll of Painting by Tanomura Chikuden

This is a scroll done of a print of Chikuden's original artwork. It is a landscape with a scholar. You can learn more about Chikuden in the wikipedia link below. The soft nature of the scroll really gives me a calm, relaxed feeling.
This was part of the Sanso collection, and I have  just a few more scrolls to make for these prints. I will be very sad when this project is over, because all the artworks are very fun to look at. I will not miss the larger pieces though...

This scroll is done with a tan cloth with a very opaque pattern. It has a rust color Ichimonji, and wood jikusaki.

Bonsai Display Scroll Made

I hope you like this shohin bonsai display created by a bonsai artist.
I made the scroll for this with the picture provided by the bonsai artist.

I made this scroll with a light color possible, trying to evoke an early summer feel. I made it into a minchou hyougu style with two vertical strips of blue. It is completed with an antique machined jikusaki and kodai san iro hanging string.

Sanso Collection #79

This is a painting of a fly whisk and staff by the artist Hakuin Ekaku, which was part of the Sanso collection. You can read more about this artist at the following link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hakuin_Ekaku This is a print of the original that was owned. It was done in a two step scroll style, with a green kinran as the chuumawashi and a brown Mandala pattern for the Ten/Chi. It has Fuutai.

This is one of my favorite paintings in the collection because of the simple nature of the painting theme, but the complex use of Haboku techniques, to visualize the different objects.
