This customer wanted a scroll that read Muso, after the Buddhist monk Muso Soseki who lived from 1275-1351. He was a calligrapher, teacher, poet and garden designer. This is written in the Gyousho semi-cursive style by Ryugyoku (Yoshimi Yamada Maples). The scroll was made in a Sandan style format. The ichimonji is a dark brown with a pattern that was not a flower or ivy on purpose. The tan intermediate cloth or Chumawashi is a donsu with a maple leaf pattern. The top blue cloth has a nomi pattern. It is finished with a natural stain jikusaki. If you would like to order a custom scroll, email to sales@customjapanesecalligraphy.com or call/text 801-214-4064
