Torn Tachi Scroll Repair
Customer asked for a miracle. The photo to the left is a picture of the scroll as I received it from the customer. I was very worried if I could take the scroll apart and remount it with minimal scarring or made to be seen that it was repaired. Customer chose some cloths that are not traditional, but I like the way the scroll turned out. If you look close you can see where the scroll was repaired. If you have a damaged or worn kakejiku, I would love to give you a quote for remounting. See www.customjapanesecalligraphy.com .email sales@customjapanesecalligraphy.com or phone/text to 801-214-4064

Remounting an Old Painting
Next I removed all the old backing paper called Urauchi from the painting.
Lastly, I applied a new first layer of paper called Hada Urauchi to the painting.
I hope you like how it is progressing.
