It is a smaller scroll, because it utilizes a specific cloth called Kinran ( 金襴 ) Kinran cloths incorporate a gold filament thread into the weave which provides a rich golden color. This particular cloth is called Shiracha Karakusa ( 白茶唐草 ), which means light brown arabesque in an English translation. It is a very elegant cloth. There is a wide variety (30+) cloths and colors to choose from. These frames allow a person to change out the displayed 8x10 photograph in less than 1 minute.
