Hada Urauchi 肌裏打ち is the first layer of paper applied to the backside of an artwork. In Japanese the character Hada is Skin and Urauchi means attach to the back. These are three paintings by an artist in Minnesota that I have applied to the Urauchi and then hung on a board to cure. If you would like to learn more about the steps to create a wallscroll, I have a book available for purchase on Amazon titled How to Make Handmade Wall Scrolls which is linked. If you would like to purchase tools and supplies, I can quote that as well. Contact us at sales@customjapanesecalligraphy.com or call or text to 801-214-4064.
