This Japanese calligraphy was provided by a Buddhist practitioner. Muga means Egoless or no self in English. The deeper meaning would need to be explained by the Roshi themself, as I am not very versed in Buddhist teachings. Because it is a religious piece of work, I recommended that we mount it in the Butsu Hyougu style. It has an ichimonji with a cloud motif, with a small brown suji bordering that and the artwork. It is then surround by a small gold karakusa kinran cloth. Again bordered by the brown suji, and finally the outer cloth. I think it turned out beautifully, and hopes it aids the practitioners in their meditation and other rituals.
