This painting on silk was sent to me by a bonsai artist in the midwest. It is a beautiful painting with pines and cranes. It is a very traditional Japanese motif. The brown pattern in the pure silk reminds me of a strong breeze. I hope to have a picture of it displayed with the bonsai.

Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Wallscroll
(This scroll is sold and is no longer available.)
In continuing my theme of having scrolls available that would work with North American bonsai, I had this Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep painted by Mariusz Szmerdt. He is very talented, and made this work.
The scroll is made in the Fukuro Hyougu style, with a navy Suji, of 1 bun (about 3mm) surrounding the artwork. It is finished with a Hida Lacquered Jikusaki and a Kon (navy) hanging string.

Cloudy Moon Sumie Yamato Hyougu
This was an additional cloudy Moon scroll that has been sold to a bonsai artist. It is painted by Mariusz Szmerdt. I made this in a more traditional Yamato Hyougu style, to go with an informal styled tree such as a bunjin style pine or conifer.
The cloths on the top and bottom are a benberugu silk, in the shike style. The chuumawashi is a Shoken (pure silk) and the ichimonji and fuutai are made of a Shinkinran.
Dimensions as follows:
